MY SPACE AND VETERANS

We provide quality accommodation and support to vulnerable adults who require our specialist services and these include Veterans who now occupy around 55 units of self-contained accommodation across our portfolio.

We operate a regional structure and our highly trained staff provide one to one care and support for the vulnerable adults we serve.

All our self-contained apartments in our veteran schemes will benefit from TouchbaseTM, an innovative digital support system, which at the touch of a button gives users access to family and friends, support providers, their Housing Officer, maintenance and emergency services. The system also gives us a digital overview of the tenant’s support needs which informs the way we shape our services.

We understand that veterans often prefer to live with like-minded people who have a military history. Living in a My Space supported living scheme, gives residents the opportunity to recover from any mental health or substance misuse issues. We provide specialised housing related support and safe place to transition from military to civilian life.

We provide specialised supported accommodation to any veteran aged 18+ who requires housing related support, from any service (Royal Marine, Army, RAF, and Royal Navy).

We have aligned our values with those of the Armed Forces Covenant which demonstrates our support to the armed forces community.

VETERAN SPECIFIC SCHEMES:

My Space have recently opened a number of veteran-specific supported living schemes. Veterans living here can retain their independence and live with like-minded people. We have veteran accommodation in the following locations:

North Shields: Walker Building. Consists of 9 self-contained, fully furnished flats. There is also a veteran hub attached.

Walker Building is situated in the heart of North Shields, only a few minutes walk from the Beacon Shopping Centre, ideally located for access to transport links and metro.

Each apartment has recently been refurbished and features an open-plan living room into fitted kitchen, double bedroom and shower room/wc.

Walker Building Veteran Hub: The hub is in the basement of Walker Building and provides a base out of which veteran organisations work. This was opened in partnership with WWTW and provides onsite specialist support for our veteran residents. WWTW will provide access to welfare and employability support to ex-military, empowering them to regain their independence, thrive and contribute in our communities.

Darlington: Francis Howard House. Consisting of 6 fully furnished, self-contained flats.

The scheme has a great town centre location, only a few minutes’ walk from the Queen Street shopping centre. There is a pharmacy located a street away plus a leisure centre and transport links within easy access. Each apartment has recently been refurbished and features an open-plan living room into fitted kitchen, double bedroom and shower room/ wc.

Chesterfield: Arcam House. Consists of 5 fully furnished flats all open plan including a fitted modern kitchen 1/2 bedrooms and bathroom including a shower

Arcam House is situated in a small town called Clay Cross which is around a 20 minute drive from Chesterfield and approximately 40 minutes from Sheffield. Also Mansfield is only 12 miles away.

Arcam is on a main bus route with the nearest train station being in Chesterfield.

Arcam house is located near two large supermarkets and the small shopping town is only minutes away. GP surgery is over the road and other convenience stores are located within minutes of walking.

Constellation House, Grundy Road, Kearsley, Bolton is the latest addition to our growing portfolio off veterans specific scheme that supports for the most vulnerable in our society. A modern development with parking available for residents, and within walking distance to the local high street.

The development in question consists of sixteen specialist supportive living-apartments. Integrated assistive technology in each apartment. Lift and bespoke physical adaptive apartments, with all units with en-suite wet-rooms.

Hull: Arundell St. Is a modern development of two adjoining buildings containing a total of 12 self-contained and fully furnished flats. The buildings were fully refurbished in 2020 and has secure parking available for residents.

Arundel Street is in the Drypool ward of Kingston Upon Hull and has a retail park within 5 minutes’ walk, and a 15 minutes bus ride to Hull City Centre. Access to Public Transport is frequent, a bus stop is within 100yds of the development.

Individual Flats are all two bedroom with Open Plan living room into fitted kitchen, with good views from 1st & 2nd Floor Apartments overlooking a School and a children’s park.

Middleton: The Limes. The Limes. Consists of 9 self-contained, fully furnished flats.

The Limes is situated in the heart of Middleton, only a few minutes walk from Middleton Shopping centre and other amenities, ideally located for access to transport links and metro.

Middleton prides itself on its Military connections and the care and support of Veterans in the community, there is also a training academy locally assisting ex servicemen to re-train and forge new careers should they wish to do so, with employment secured as a result of this. Each apartment has recently been refurbished and features an open-plan living room into fitted kitchen, double bedroom and shower room/wc.
